At Four Virtues Coffee™, we roast every bag fresh to order with care and intention, guided by our virtues of justice, temperance, wisdom, and courage. Because our coffee is a perishable food product, our refund and return policy reflects the need to maintain quality, safety, and sustainability.

Returns We do not accept physical returns of coffee products. Roasted coffee is perishable—once shipped, returning it would waste resources and require us to discard it for food safety reasons. This policy helps reduce environmental impact while ensuring you receive the freshest possible brew.

Refunds and Replacements If something isn't right with your order, we're here to make it virtuous again. Contact us promptly so we can resolve it quickly.

  • Wrong Item, Damaged Package, or Quality Concern If your order arrives incorrect (e.g., wrong coffee or grind), damaged (e.g., torn bag, leaking), or if you have a genuine quality issue, reach out right away.
    • Timeframe: Notify us within 14 days of delivery (ideally sooner, as coffee freshness is time-sensitive).
    • How: Email us at support@fourvirtuescoffee.com or use the built-in chat feature (bottom-right on our site) with your order number, photos of the issue (if applicable), and details.
    • Resolution: We'll review your request and, at our discretion, typically arrange a replacement shipment at no extra cost so you can enjoy your coffee without delay. In some cases, we may offer a full refund or store credit (issued to your original payment method or as credit for future purchases).
  • Change of Mind or Taste Preferences Due to the custom-roasted and perishable nature of our products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, personal taste preferences, or if the coffee doesn't match your expected flavor profile (as taste is subjective and influenced by brewing method, water, storage, etc.). We encourage reviewing product descriptions, grind recommendations, and our Coffee Tips section before ordering.
  • Order Cancellations Because we roast to order, orders process quickly. If you need to cancel or modify, contact us immediately via email or chat with your order number. Once processing or fulfillment begins (typically within 1–2 business days), changes or cancellations may not be possible.

Freshness and Storage Note Our coffee is roasted fresh for peak flavor and arrives near its best window (ideally enjoyed 1–3 weeks post-roast; whole beans last longer than ground). For optimal taste:

  • Store in the original bag or an airtight, opaque container in a cool, dark place (below 75°F/24°C).
  • Use within 2–4 weeks after opening.
  • Avoid the fridge/freezer for daily use due to condensation risks.

We are not responsible for changes in flavor due to improper storage after delivery.

Shipping-Related Issues For lost, delayed, or stolen packages, refer to our Shipping Policy. We work with carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) and provide tracking—contact us if issues arise, and we'll assist where possible.
